Low-acid and acidified canned vegetable processor. SQF Level III plant.
Direct the plant’s quality assurance function, ensuring its effectiveness and continuous improvement of the quality and food safety systems. Implement all technical and regulatory compliance activities.
Update and document laboratory-testing procedures. Verify laboratory and processing procedures by auditing, tracing, and evaluating the manufacturing and analytical data.
Responsible for auditing and maintaining lot tracking system for raw materials to finished materials. Responsible for pest elimination programs and overseeing waste disposal compliance.
Monitor raw materials, packing components, labeling and finished goods and supplies inventory for quality and regulatory compliance. Support sales and marketing by insuring the accuracy of distributed technical information, new product development and handling of customer inquiries concerning handling, storage and use of products.
FDA, USDA, Organic, Non-GMO Project, Kosher. Assist with sustainable agriculture program and production programs.
Develop and communicate product quality and regulatory compliance control points and strategies to all department heads and manufacturing employees in the plant. Reports to Plant Manager. Communicates to executive management at Corporate on the performance of the quality and food safety systems.
BS – Science related.
5+ years’ Quality Assurance management experience in a processing environment.
2+ years’ Thermal processing experience required with a sound knowledge of LACF (Low Acid Canned Food),
Acidified, HARPC, HAACP and safety principles for food production and handling.
Certified in HARPC, HACCP, SQF and Better Process Controls preferred.
Experience in SQF desirable.
Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
