The company is a leading, privately held national food service company serving business and industry, education, healthcare and the entertainment sectors with on-site dining, catering, vending and beverage services.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Primary point of contact for all quality assurance and food safety related topics and company liaison to clients and regulatory agencies for safety inquiries, issues and concerns. 
 
Process and standards expert responsible for initiatives, development, improvement, education and enforcement of food safety, culinary production and sanitation standards for all lines of business within the company. 

Develop, implement, and distribute proactive safety programs and tools companywide.
 
Works closely with other departments and company supplier’s technical support departments to develop new or improvements to current products and processes improvements.  

Participates on new product teams to develop product specifications, quality attributes and food safety parameters. 

Establishes strong working relationships with all suppliers to assure proper communication strategies are in place for product recall or alerts.
 
Conducts quality assurance assessments while coaching, directing and training front line teams, associates and company leaders to improve overall operational food management performance.
 
Establish auditing protocol with contracted 3rd party firms to assure all food suppliers meet company standards. 

Develop and maintain the company Business Continuity Plan and Emergency Preparedness Programs. 

Lead and coordinate all product recalls, alerts, warnings, holds and withdrawals and investigation of foodborne illness allegations and/or outbreaks
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS

BS degree - science related.

10+ years’ of progressive responsibility in strategy and field activity in quality, regulatory, food safety, food regulations and crisis management.

Knowledge of in GFSI, HACCP, BRC, SQF, GMA-Safe, ServSafe and 3rd party audit programs and regulations and regulatory agencies that govern the food service industry.

Available at any time for safety crisis management and support.  Travel potentially up to 50% conducting safety audits and training at high risk accounts.
