A large chemical plant is looking for a talented Maintenance and Engineering Manager to join their team. The plant is located near Fort Wayne, IN. Candidate must have 5-20 years of experience - Very stable job history and excellent communication are required. Client will only accept an engineering degree, with strong PMs and CMMS skills. Heavy machinery and hands-on approach. Industries - Chemical industry candidates only.  Candidate must be a hands-on maintenance superintendent  who does not manage from an office.


  • Own and lead the Plant PM Pillar
    • Champion development, implementation and use of PM Pillar tools including PMs and Failure Analysis
    • Support the Plant Autonomous Maintenance (AM) activities
  • Lead the Technical Department
    • Develop and lead the Department’s Annual Master Plan and 90 Day Plans
    • Track and communicate key technical results
    • Provide direction and coaching for 3 shift Technical Department employee
  • Responsible for managing the Technical Department budget and the Plant M&R budget
    • Understand plant spending and develop plans to address gaps
  • Lead Technical Problem Solving
    • Lead problem solving for equipment breakdowns
    • Determine root cause for failures
    • Implement systemic solutions
  • Provide technical and leadership support for on-site capital projects
  • Develop technical capability in plant technicians
    • Provide coaching to operators as needed

Job Requirements:

• BS Degree in Engineering is required - ME or EE or CHEM

• Experience working in the chemical  industry

• Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds periodically - PMs and CMMS are required 

• Capable of standing on a concrete floor for a significant amount of time during an 8 or 12 hour period

• Able to work with mechanical equipment and chemical operations.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
