TITLE: Outpatient Clinical Dietitian

Provides outpatient and clinical nutrition services through utilization of all aspects of the nutrition care process.
Outpatient services may include cancer or bariatric population and nutrition services for the Wellness Center.
Conducts Nutrition Screening/Prioritization of care for all patients that need to be seen on a daily basis.
Utilizes knowledge in the area of medical nutrition therapy to apply the Nutrition Care Process, including completion of the nutrition assessment, determination of the nutrition diagnosis, developing and implementing nutrition interventions, and monitoring and evaluating of the patient’s progress according to age, disease, and individual needs.
Utilizes current/evidence based protocols in order to ensure medical nutrition therapy practices to meet established guidelines.
Provides and assesses effectiveness of patient and family education.
Develops, evaluates and utilizes appropriate education materials for patients.
Identifies learning needs using methods appropriate to each patient's developmental and educational level; evaluates and documents learner response to teaching.
Completes all required documentation including nutritional care plan, assessments, consultations, nutrient intake analyses and patient education in the patient's medical record and on all required documentation tools in a timely, professional and thorough manner.
Attends multidisciplinary care plan rounds on assigned floors as indicated by hospital and department policy and procedures
Must have a BS, BA or higher degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a related discipline.
Successful completion of internship accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
Minimum of 1 year as a practicing registered dietitian preferred.
Must be a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Licensed Dietitian with the State of New Mexico.
Facility is over 200 beds
Shift Differentials are also paid according to the shift the Outpatient Clinical Dietitian works(3p-11p-$2.00,11p-7a-$2.75 Weekends: 11p Friday through Sunday 11p-$2.00).
Outpatient Clinical Dietitian must work at least four consecutive hours to be eligible for the shift differential.
The facility is offering a competitive hourly range between $23.33-$33.84 depending on experience. They also offer a great benefit package.
